Sara Silva is an accomplished trial lawyer with more than twenty years of experience representing multinational corporations, executives, and employees in a wide range of industries.

Recognized in 2020 as a Massachusetts Lawyer of the Year, Sara has defended U.S. and international clients against allegations of kickbacks, fraudulent product promotion, false claims, export violations, public corruption, health care fraud, wire fraud, tax fraud, and conspiracies to violate federal laws. She is a fierce advocate who spares no effort to secure the best possible outcome for her clients.  Strategic, pragmatic, and tireless, Sara helps her clients withstand government enforcement actions and gets them through the process intact.

Sara also leads internal investigations for pharmaceutical, medical device and life sciences companies on issues involving sales and marketing practices, product design defects, manufacturing irregularities, and potential false claims, and advises on risk mitigation and prevention.  Her skill at managing complex, multilayered problems extends to product liability matters, where she defends pharmaceutical and medical device companies against claims of public nuisance, personal injury and wrongful death in individual and multidistrict litigations throughout the country.

Sara is deeply committed to securing justice wherever possible.  She has authored successful amicus briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court on such diverse topics as the application of the Eighth Amendment to the mentally disabled, how best to protect privacy rights in a digital age, and remediating failures that contribute to systemic racial injustices.  She represents indigent federal defendants as a CJA panel member at the trial and appeals court levels, advocates for fairer and appropriate sentencing policies as a member of the Practitioners Advisory Group to the U.S. Sentencing Commission, and was recently recognized as a pro bono attorney of the year by Kids in Need of Defense.
